Cancer Ties Inc. is a non-profit organization in Albany, Ga. Our board of community volunteers ensures that the organization operates transparently and is an excellent steward of the generous financial contributions to Cancer Ties. We are grateful for the community’s support and couldn’t be prouder of the meaningful impact Cancer Ties has had on cancer survivors and their loved ones. Why do we call it Cancer Ties? During a 2007 brainstorming cancer, we learned that each of us has a “tie” to cancer — be it a spouse, parent, child, friend, or coworker, and that we are “knot” going to let it win!

The Focus of Our Efforts
WHAT WE DO
With the community’s help, we hold several fundraising events throughout the year to help local cancer patients with medical costs and some household expenses. Mixing fun with community service, Cancer Ties has truly demonstrated that there truly is Only One Albany.
WHY WE DO IT
We began as a group of seven friends who wanted to lend a hand to our friend, Allison Salter, who was battling cancer. Our 2007 event was such a tremendous success that -– with Allison’s help -– we decided to continue to operate Cancer Ties as an ongoing effort.
HOW WE DO IT
We do it with your help. Your participation supports local people -– our friends and neighbors -– whose lives have been turned upside down by cancer. There are ongoing opportunities throughout to donate online or offline, attend fundraisers — and have fun!
