Cancer Ties Inc. is a nonprofit organization rooted in Albany, Georgia, with a heart for serving local individuals and families navigating a cancer diagnosis. Guided by a dedicated board of community volunteers, we pride ourselves on operating with integrity, transparency, and a deep respect for every contribution that makes our mission possible.
Since our founding in 2007, Cancer Ties has been built on the belief that community matters—especially in life’s hardest moments. Through the generosity of supporters, we’re able to offer direct financial assistance and a sense of hope to those who need it most.
The name “Cancer Ties” came from a simple but powerful realization: cancer connects us all. Whether through family, friendship, or personal experience, each of us shares a “tie.” Those connections inspire us to stand stronger together—because we are knot giving up the fight. 💗

The Focus of Our Efforts
WHAT WE DO
With the community’s help, we hold several fundraising events throughout the year to help local cancer patients with medical costs and some household expenses. Mixing fun with community service, Cancer Ties has truly demonstrated that there truly is Only One Albany.
WHY WE DO IT
We began as a group of seven friends who wanted to lend a hand to our friend, Allison Salter, who was battling cancer. Our 2007 event was such a tremendous success that -– with Allison’s help -– we decided to continue to operate Cancer Ties as an ongoing effort.
HOW WE DO IT
We do it with your help. Your participation supports local people -– our friends and neighbors -– whose lives have been turned upside down by cancer. There are ongoing opportunities throughout to donate online or offline, attend fundraisers — and have fun!
